About L. Autumn
I’m a fun, creative Motherhood & Women’s Wellness Blogger with a passion for sharing my experiences of loving self and parenting based in Brooklyn, NY. I’m also the founder of She’s A Wreck which is a platform for women and moms where I share my stories to bring awareness to wellness & the reality of parenting as a black millennial mom.
The She’s A Wreck community was built based on my belief and personal journey of rediscovery. Wreck stands for Woman Rediscovering Embracing Change & Knowledge. I promote the motto to “refuel, recharge, rest and prosper as you get into the habit of pouring into yourself”.
About the Family
We’re all just trying to figure this motherhood thing out!
We currently live in Brooklyn, and as a young family, we’re always ready for a new adventure. We work with many incredible brands to promote practical and city living, entrepreneurship, and family-friendly products & places!
I am married to the most loving and supportive husband. We met when I was 18 years old and its been love, war and happiness ever since. We have two beautiful children, AJ and Brooke!
AJ was born barreling into this world, my first child at 19. And at the age of 19 years old, he taught me that there is no greater love than the love of a mother and child. I grew up as he grew inside of me. If you ever have a chance to know him personally, then you’ll know that he is the sweetest superhero! My beautiful tutu ballerina warrior princess Brooke is our second child. She is all sass, personality, imagination and love, my little reflection.
Navigating motherhood isn’t always easy but I wouldn’t have it any other way. You’ll learn more about me, my family and parenting style so be sure to subscribe for monthly updates.
About the Blog
Why “She’s A Wreck”?
WRECK= Woman Rediscovering Embracing Change & Knowledge
In 2016 I was diagnosed with anixety and major depressive disorder and although I knew of the anxiety and panic attacks for years I was now officially stamped. That’s when I began on a journey of rediscovery, self-love, and care and I began to see vast improvements in my life as I started to pour into myself.
The idea of the blog came to my mind when asked online by my mom community and friends about my experiences and how I turned darkness into wellness, light, and positivity while still being a dope mom in the 21st century.
When She’s A Wreck was started I wanted to draw on the experiences I was facing at the moment. I had been working 10 hour days, spending my Friday nights looking for things to do with my family and always thinking about how I could share my tips and experiences with others.
There were many nights that I just had to hold on to my own internal motivation to keep going, but friends online kept saying how perfect my life seemed. I thought, if only they knew that almost every night I am a complete wreck and slowly just trying to keep my life together. With everything from struggling with mental health, rediscovering myself, parenting, clean eating, working out, attempting to be a great wife, and juggling a career amongst it all, I knew that this was something many women must be feeling and alas “She’s A Wreck” was born.
After not being able to find mothers who share the nitty gritty realness of motherhood, mental health and how it affects motherhood, the benefits of self-love, care and imperfections I created “She’s A Wreck” to fill that gap and hopefully reach an audience that’s just like me.
I hope to make you laugh, inspire you and bring you easy-going tips and experiences.
