July 13, 2018Autumn

Do you have time to date your spouse? As a wife and mom, it’s often hard to get time alone with the hubby and that can be difficult on any marriage. Taking the time out for date nights are essential for any relationship and when you are pressed for time an indoor date night is just the thing to do. Marriage & Motherhood: 3 indoor date night tips for busy parents are some simple tips to start planning your night in and make the most of your time alone without the babies.

3 Indoor Date Nights Tips For Busy Parents

Ready, Set, Match

Game Nights aren’t just for the kids, use your indoor date night time to play some adult games. You can spice it up or keep it PG with lots of different two-player games. Game night is a quick and easy thing to plan in a matter of minutes so there’s no need to grab a sitter or spend days picking the perfect place to go.

If you and your partner like to be competitive choose some games that have a true competitive edge (hey love and basketball fans), or spice up your poker game with a little striptease here and there.

Two Player Games

Board Games
Chess or Checkers

Card Games
Phase 10
Go Fish
Black Jack
Strip Poker
Build a card tower

Unconventional Games
Twister (try it in your underwear)
Pillow Fight
Nerf Gun War
Water Gunfight

Dinner & Movie

Going out the theater is always great but sometimes as busy parents, you just might not have the time to get there. Dim the lights, turn off your phone and snuggle up for dinner and movie. After the kids have eaten and gone to bed, cook up a late dinner, pop some popcorn and rent the newest movie for your night in.

The key to the dinner and movie date night is turning off the phones and focusing on your partner. With all the fun and crazy that comes with parenting, it can be hard to find a time where you shut off the world to just communicate with one another. During dinner put the phones in the room, grab a glass of wine and pour into your spouse and be a true listener. When dinner is done get your biggest fluffiest blanket to create an intimate space for watching a new or old flick.

Spa Night

Who says you need to splurge at the spa to spoil your spouse? Trust me you don’t need to spend tons of money to pamper your partner because you can do this right at home.

Every spa needs some light snacks and refreshing drinks so prep your bedroom with a bottle of champagne, water, and light fruits or chocolates to enjoy at your in-home spa. Set the mood in the space by dimming the lights, lighting some candles and adding some relaxing tunes to the background.

What an awesome post! The hubby and I like to watch a movie together. We dislike crowds, so sitting next to him to watch a good movie is perfect. 🙂
